The information collected helps us verify users and maintain the integrity of the Anchorr community whilst improving the Anchorr experience. This includes:

Account Information

  • Name, username, email address, mobile number, gender identity, sexual preference, department onboard, date of birth, nationality, current location, photographs and login credentials.

     

  • Linked accounts (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Google, Apple) if you sign up through them.

     

  • Some information (e.g., name, gender, current location, age, department, sexual preference and photos) may be visible to other users.

     

  • You can review and update most of this information at any time by logging into your account, except for your date of birth and current location (if location access is enabled on your device, this is updated automatically). Keeping your account information accurate and up-to-date is your responsibility.

Verification Documents

Anchorr is exclusive to members of the yachting industry. To maintain integrity, verification may include:

  • Phone number or email verification.

     

  • Photo verification (including facial recognition where permitted by law).

     

  • Uploading STCW certifications or equivalent credentials.

     

  • Documentation will be stored securely and not shared publicly. Records are deleted after three years of inactivity.

     

Profile Data

  • Bio, preferences, and optional settings you provide.

     

App Interactions

  • Private messages, connection requests, and user activity.

     

Geolocation Data

  • If enabled, we collect location data to personalise your experience and display nearby users.

     

  • Location tracking can be disabled through device settings at any time.

To maintain a respectful and safe environment, the following are prohibited:

  • Mentioning Vessels or Employers: Sharing vessel names or employer details in profiles or public spaces on the Anchorr app.

     

  • Naming & Shaming: Criticising or defaming vessels or individuals.

     

  • Inappropriate Content: Sharing explicit or offensive material.

     

  • Harassment or Abuse: Any form of harassment, bullying, or malicious behaviour.

     

Violation may result in permanent suspension of your account.

  1. PRIVATE MESSAGING

While Anchorr supports private messaging for meaningful connections, users are expected to:

  • Avoid sharing sensitive personal details (e.g. addresses, banking details).

     

  • Refrain from sending unsolicited or explicit images. We have not included sending personal images via chat for this specific purpose.

     

Anchorr does not monitor private messages, but may investigate reports of abuse. Users are solely responsible for their communications.
